Things to Consider

Other than paying on time, there are many things you can do as a customer that will make our jobs easier and safer.  Here are some things to consider:

~Keeping the area around your trash receptacle mowed and clean helps prevent snakes and bees.

~If you live on a busy highway, especially if your driveway is in a curve, placing your can as close to the road as possible without being in the road helps us spend as little time as necessary in a dangerous situation.  Otherwise, even if your house is only 20 feet from the road, it is very helpful if you sit it out by the road rather than depend on us to get it beside your house.  Even those few extra steps add a lot of time to our already full day.

~If we are hand emptying your receptacle it is very helpful if your bags are not overly heavy.  We would rather pick up more bags that are lighter than having some that are so heavy they bust everywhere.  

~Please use trash bags!  It is extremely hard to contain loose trash when we dump your can if it is not bagged, especially on a windy day.  It also makes your can extra smelly and unpleasant.  Bags are needed for loose paper, kitchen trash, bathroom trash, etc.   We understand that some things don't easily fit in a bag.  Large boxes, air filters, feed sacks or other large items are okay without a bag.
